  Glucose Syrup

  Glucose syrup is often manufactured from maize (corn), in which case it is known as “corn syrup,” but it can also be made from other starchy plants, such as potatoes, wheat, barley, rice, and cassava.In commercially prepared foods, it is mostly used as a thickener, sweetener, and humectant (an additive that retains moisture and keeps food fresh). Additionally, a lot of other candy goods are made using glucose syrup.
